My approach is straightforward: understand the business first, design second, build third. Too many websites are built in the wrong order — code-first, design after — and it shows.

Before any design is touched, I ask what the business actually needs, who it's talking to, and what a visitor should do when they land on the page. That clarity is what separates a site that looks good from one that performs.
